Ушанов Юлай

Yulai Ushanov was born in 1946, in Ufa-2002.

In 1961-1964 he studied at the Ballet School of the Bashkir State Theatre of Opera and Ballet. After graduation from the Perm School of Choreography (1967) he worked at the Bashkir State Theatre of Opera and ballet till 1988, since 1991 he has been working as a teacher of the Bashkir School of Choreography by R.Nureev (nowadays - the Bashkir College of Choreography by R.Nureev). The main parts: Aytugan (“I love you, life” by N.Sabitov), Yumagul (“Songs of the Crane” by LStepanov and Z.Ismagilov), Albert (“Gisele” by A.Adan), “Bazil” (“Don Quixote” by L.Minkus), Vatslav, Girei (“The Fountain of Bakhchisarai” by B.Asafyev), Dezire (“Sleeping Beauty” by P.Tchaikovsky) and others. He is a participant of the Days of Culture BASSR in Ulianovsk (1968) and Leningrad (1969), the Days of Literature and Art BASSR in Kara-Kalpak ASSR.

Titles and merits:

1971 – was titled “The Honored Artist of BASSR”

1974 – was titled “The People’s Artist of BASSR”.
