Юлтый Даут

One of the founders of Bashkir Soviet literature, national mass media and art, Daut Yultiy was born on the 18th of April, 1893 in the village Yultiy, the Yurman-Tabyn volost of the Orenburg province. He was educated at Muslim schools and the Institute of Red Professors in Moscow.

D.Yultiy composed his first poems at the age of 11. His first poems were printed in 1916-1917. He worked in the genres of poetry, drama, prose, publicism, literary criticism. In the works, created during Imperialist War, the protest against bloodshed battles is expressed: “The Greatcoat”, “The Haversack”. He was on the Bolsheviks’ side during the 1917 Revolution and this event introduced a new ideological-thematic content into his poetry, system of images, poetics. His first book of poetry “Melodies of the Urals” was published in 1921. In his poem “Sharaf” (1922) the author turned to the theme of the new epoch.
In books of collected poems “A Modern Poem” (1931),”Today” (1933) etc. the central theme is the theme of the present, the character of new type. D.Yultiy is the author of numerous short stories (“Timerkays Philosophy”, “Umat”, etc.), the story “Alima, or Old Myrdash’s Wedding”, a historical and revolutionary novel “blood” (1934). In 1920 D.Yultiy wrote a historical tragedy”Karagul”, then “Makhtymhylu”, “Akman”, “BAtyr”, dramas “At the Mill”(1927), “Who Are You?”, “The Aralbayevs”, “The found Marat”, etc.
